Lodge Policies – Spectacle Lake Lodge
Please review these policies carefully before completing your reservation.
Guest Policies & Terms of Stay
We want every guest to have a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable stay at Spectacle Lake Lodge. To help ensure a positive experience for everyone, please review the following policies before making your reservation.
By making a reservation and staying at Spectacle Lake Lodge, guests agree to comply with these policies and accept responsibility for themselves and all members of their party.
Reservation Guarantee
All reservations must be secured with a valid credit card at the time of booking. The credit card on file may be used for applicable room charges, cancellation fees, damages, cleaning fees or other charges incurred during the stay.
Minimum Stay Requirements:

July & August: Minimum 2-night stay.

Off-Season: 1-night stays are available, except during long weekends, holidays and special events, when a 2-night minimum may apply.

Extended Stays: Special rates are available for stays of 7 nights or more.
Cancellation Policy
As a small, remote lodge, cancelled reservations can have a significant impact on our operations. We therefore ask that guests carefully consider their plans before booking.
Individual Reservations:
-
14 or more days before arrival: No cancellation fee.
-
48 hours to 14 days before arrival: 50% of the total reservation will be charged.
-
Less than 48 hours before arrival: 75% of the total reservation will be charged.
-
Same-day cancellation or No-Show: 100% of the total reservation will be charged.
Cancellation fees are based on the total accommodation cost of the reservation.
Group Reservations – 3 or More Accommodation Units:
Group reservations require a minimum of 4 weeks' notice of cancellation.
Cancellations or reductions made within 4 weeks of arrival may be subject to charges of up to 100% of the cancelled accommodation, depending on the circumstances and our ability to rebook the accommodation.
Group reservations may be subject to separate deposit and payment terms outlined in the group booking agreement.
Please note: Cancellation policies apply regardless of weather, travel delays, personal circumstances or changes in plans.
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-In: From 3:00 pm
Check-Out: By 11:00 am
Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
A $40 late check-out fee will apply when a guest remains in the accommodation beyond the designated check-out time without prior approval.
Guests arriving after 7:00 p.m. are asked to contact the Lodge in advance to arrange after-hours check-in instructions.
Smoking, Vaping & Cannabis Policy
All guest accommodations and Lodge buildings are 100% smoke-free and vape-free.
Smoking or vaping of cigarettes, cannabis or any other substance is strictly prohibited inside:

Guest rooms
-
Cabins
-
Lodge buildings
-
Common indoor areas
Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated outdoor smoking areas.
Guests must take reasonable steps to prevent smoke or odour from entering accommodations, buildings or common areas or disturbing other guests.
Cannabis use and cigarette smoking outdoors must be conducted in a manner that does not allow smoke or strong odours to enter guest accommodations or affect neighbouring guests.
If smoking, vaping or cannabis odour is detected inside an accommodation, or if excessive smoke or cannabis odour has entered an accommodation from outdoor use, the guest may be considered in violation of this policy.
A minimum $250 cleaning and odour-remediation fee will be charged for violations. Additional charges may apply for:

Specialized cleaning or odour treatment

Damage caused by smoking or vaping

Replacement of damaged items
-
Loss of revenue if the accommodation must be removed from service
Guests are responsible for ensuring that all members of their party and visitors comply with this policy. Violation of this policy may result in termination of the stay without refund.
Damage, Loss, Excessive Cleaning & Linen Policy
Guests are responsible for the care of their accommodation and all Lodge property during their stay.
Guests may be charged for:

Damage to rooms, cabins, buildings, furniture, fixtures or equipment

Missing or damaged items
-
Excessive cleaning beyond normal housekeeping
-
Smoking, vaping or odour remediation
-
Damage caused by pets
-
Lost keys or other Lodge property
-
Heavily soiled or stained linens and towels
-
Any costs associated with misuse, neglect or intentional damage
Linen & Towel Care
Guests are asked to treat all bedding, towels and linens with care.
Lodge towels, facecloths, bathmats, bedding and other linens must not be used to clean muddy, wet or dirty clothing, footwear, ATV equipment or other recreational equipment.
Guests participating in ATVing or other outdoor activities are required to bring their own rags or cleaning cloths for removing mud, dirt, grease and debris from clothing, footwear and equipment.
Guests may be charged for specialized cleaning, replacement or disposal of linens, towels, mattress protectors or other items that are excessively soiled, stained or damaged beyond normal use.
This includes, but is not limited to:

Mud or excessive dirt

Grease or oil
-
Blood
-
Bodily fluids
-
Makeup
-
Chemicals
-
Excessive staining
-
Other substances that cannot be removed through standard laundering
Charges will be applied to the credit card on file. If the cost of the damage, cleaning or replacement exceeds the amount available on the card, the guest remains responsible for the outstanding balance.
Guests are encouraged to report any damage or maintenance concerns to the Lodge as soon as possible.
Alcohol Policy
Outside alcohol is not permitted in the Lodge restaurant, bar, terrace, patio or other licensed areas.
Outside alcohol may be consumed within the guest's private accommodation, provided it does not create a disturbance or violate any other Lodge policy.
Guests are expected to drink responsibly. Intoxication, disorderly conduct or behaviour that disrupts other guests or staff will not be tolerated.
Occupancy & Age Requirements
All guests must indicate on the reservation, and guests must comply with the maximum occupancy established for their accommodation.
Additional guests beyond the registered occupancy may be permitted only with prior approval and may be subject to a $50 per additional adult, per night fee.
For safety and insurance purposes, exceeding the maximum occupancy of an accommodation is not permitted without approval.
The primary guest making a reservation must be 21 years of age or older.
Spectacle Lake Lodge reserves the right to request valid photo identification at check-in.
Non-Motorized Watercraft & Lake Safety
Spectacle Lake Lodge provides access to non-motorized watercraft free to guests for their enjoyment, that includes, canoes, kayaks and other paddle craft.
Use of any Lodge watercraft or participation in recreational water activities is at the guest’s own risk.
For the safety of everyone on the water:

Every person using a canoe, kayak or other watercraft must wear an appropriately sized, properly fitted life jacket or personal flotation device (PFD) while on the water.

Guests must ensure that an appropriate safety kit is available with the watercraft before departing from shore.

Guests are responsible for ensuring that the watercraft and safety equipment are suitable for their experience level and the current weather and water conditions.

Watercraft must be used responsibly and only within the guest's abilities.
-
Guests should check weather and water conditions before going out and return to shore immediately if conditions become unsafe.

Guests should not operate watercraft while under the influence of alcohol, cannabis or any other impairing substance.
-
Children under 16 years of age must be always supervised by a responsible adult when near or around the water, including the shoreline, beach, docks and while using any watercraft.

Children and inexperienced swimmers must be closely supervised by a responsible adult.
-
Watercraft must remain on Spectacle Lake and may not be transported to another lake or location without prior approval from the Lodge.

Guests are responsible for returning all watercraft, paddles, PFDs and safety equipment in the same condition in which they were provided.
-
Any loss, damage or misuse of Lodge watercraft or equipment may result in additional charges.
Important Safety Notice: Spectacle Lake Lodge does not guarantee that water conditions, weather conditions or watercraft use will always be safe. Guests are responsible for assessing conditions and determining whether it is safe for them and their party to enter the water.
By using Lodge watercraft, guests acknowledge the inherent risks associated with boating, paddling, swimming and recreational activities on the water and agree to use the equipment responsibly and at their own risk.
If you are unsure about how to use the equipment or where it is safe to travel, please speak with Lodge staff before heading out.
Payment Methods
We accept: Visa, Mastercard, Interac or Cash (no other cards are accepted)
Accommodation charges are due and will be processed at check-in.
A valid credit card is required on file as a security guarantee for incidental charges, damages, cleaning fees or other applicable charges.
Quiet Hours & Guest Conduct
Quiet hours are observed throughout the property from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
During quiet hours, guests are expected to keep noise to a minimum and respect other guests both at the Lodge and on the lake.
Excessive noise, loud music, parties, disruptive behaviour, excessive barking or other disturbances are not permitted at any time.
Guests who repeatedly or seriously violate quiet hours or engage in disruptive behaviour may be required to leave the property without refund.
Pet Policy
Spectacle Lake Lodge is pleased to welcome well-behaved dogs in our pet-friendly accommodations.
Pet Fee: $75 per stay
Maximum: 2 dogs per accommodation
Weight: Maximum 50 lbs per dog
To ensure a comfortable environment for all guests, the following rules apply:

Dogs must be always supervised. If left unattended in rooms or cabins, they should be crated, however if not, any damage will result in additional charges.

Dogs must be kept on a leash while on Lodge property.
-
Excessive barking or disruptive behaviour is not permitted.
-
Dogs are not permitted on the beach at any time.

Owners must clean up after their pets immediately and dispose of waste appropriately. Poo bags are available; however, we request that guests bring their own.

Guests are responsible for any damage caused by their pet.
-
Dogs must be current on all required vaccinations. Proof of vaccination may be requested upon arrival.
-
Aggressive behaviour toward guests, staff or other animals will not be tolerated and may result in removal of the pet or termination of the guest's stay without refund.
The $75 pet fee covers standard additional housekeeping. Additional cleaning or damage charges may apply when required.
Guest Departure Responsibilities
To help us prepare accommodations for our next guests, guests are asked to complete the following before checking out:
Dishes:
All dishes, glasses, cutlery and cookware used during your stay must be washed, dried and returned to their proper place. Coffee pots, kettles and coffee makers must also be cleaned after use, including removal of coffee grounds.
Garbage & Recycling:
All garbage’s must be emptied on your day of check-out and placed outside your unit at the door for collection.
Towels & Linens:
All used towels, facecloths and bathmats must be placed in the shower or bathtub.
Personal Belongings:
Please ensure all personal belongings are removed from the accommodation before departure. Any items left behind will be placed in Lost & Found and may be donated if not claimed within a reasonable period.
Furniture & Lodge Property:
Please return furniture and Lodge property to its original location and leave the accommodation in a reasonably tidy condition.
Guest Responsibility & Conduct
Guests are responsible for the behaviour of everyone included in their reservation, including visitors they bring onto the property.
Spectacle Lake Lodge reserves the right to refuse service or terminate a guest's stay, without refund, when a guest or member of their party:

Causes damage to Lodge property

Creates a significant disturbance
-
Violates Lodge policies
-
Engages in threatening, abusive or unsafe behaviour
-
Exceeds the permitted occupancy
-
Uses an accommodation for unauthorized purposes
Any applicable charges will be applied to the credit card on file.
Respect for the Property & Other Guests
Spectacle Lake Lodge is a peaceful waterfront property that shares the lake with other property owners, other guests, families and visitors. We ask everyone to respect the Lodge, the lake, our staff, our neighbours and fellow guests.
Please treat the property, accommodations and the lake with care and leave them in the same condition or better than you found it for the next guest.
While housekeeping services are provided, guests are asked to leave their accommodation tidy and reasonably clean before departure. This helps us keep costs down and maintain affordable rates.
Excessive cleaning, garbage, unwashed dishes or failure to follow the departure requirements may result in an additional cleaning fee.
Policy Acceptance & Authorization
By making a reservation, checking in, or staying at Spectacle Lake Lodge, the guest confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to all Lodge policies and terms of stay outlined above.
The guest making the reservation is responsible for ensuring that all members of their party and any visitors are aware of and comply with these policies.
By providing a valid credit card at the time of booking, the guest authorizes Spectacle Lake Lodge to charge the card on file for any applicable:

Accommodation charges

Cancellation or no-show fees
-
Damage or replacement costs
-
Excessive cleaning charges
-
Smoking, vaping or odour-remediation fees
-
Pet-related cleaning or damage charges
-
Lost or damaged Lodge property
-
Other fees or charges incurred as a result of violating these policies
Guests acknowledge that failure to comply with Lodge policies may result in additional charges and, where appropriate, termination of the stay without refund.
By completing a reservation, the guest confirms their acceptance of these policies and agrees to be responsible for the conduct of themselves and everyone in their party.
